This invention presents metal-free organic photosensitizers for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs), featuring a D-π-A design with natural dye donors, thieno-thiophene π-spacers, and cyanoacrylic acid acceptors. Computationally designed for broad visible-to-near-infrared absorption, they offer higher efficiency and a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to metal-based sensitizers, with potential in solar energy and photodynamic therapies.
